There is just something about the chorus on this song titled “Rabbit Hole” by London-based electronic pop artist Shaefri. The rest of the record could be extremely poor and I would still love it, that’s how much the chorus grabs and holds my attention. Thankfully, Shaefri has another thing going for her on this record, her voice is equally as magnetic as this gloriously-crafted chorus.
So a little bit about Shaefri – she was born and raised in London, she has a mixed Irish-Egyptian heritage, and has performed alongside the likes of Babyshambles and Craigie Dodds (Gorillaz, Amy Winehouse, Eliza Doolittle). “Rabbit Hole” is the follow up to her previous offering “Pixelate” which you can check out on YouTube.
“Rabbit Hole” does make for a compelling listen, if you can get past how good the chorus sounds. It sees Shaefri in vulnerable and desperate mode, pining for the object of her affection to love her back. The video, shot by famed portrait photographer Dylan Thomas, is also a good addition to the mix, so I would say you’re in for a treat with this one. Check it out below and let me know what you think.
