According to the Hollywood Reporter, British actor Simon Pegg, best known for his roles in Edgar Wright’s Shaun Of The Dead (2004), Hot Fuzz (2007), and The Worlds End (2013), is in talks to play Orgen Morrow, the co-creator of an online utopia called Oasis in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming science-fiction film Ready Player One.
Based on the novel of the same name by Ernest Cline, the film will follow teenager Wade Owen Watts (Tye Sheridan), who enters a simulated reality called the Oasis and goes on a quest to find a hidden ‘easter egg’ that, if found, will give the winner a vast, real life fortune. Other cast members will include Olivia Cooke who is set to play Art3mis, the love interest of Wade. Ready Player One is scheduled for a March 2018 release.
