How does that song go again? “Cos it’s shut down!…Announce on Twitter and its shut down!” – well at least that sums up the unexpected Skepta ‘Shut Down’ party/performance that took place this evening! Just this afternoon, Skepta tweeted to fans “Free #SHUTDOWN party tonight in London. Location announcement @4PM <3” (can we also please appreciate the love heart at the end? Thank you).
More than a few retweets later, Skepta posted video directions to Holywell Lane car park in Shoreditch, which was overflowing this evening with fans of the Boy Better Know MC. So while you were having probably having your dinner, Skepta shut down a little bit of East London. The man wasn’t lying! This impromptu show follows the release of the music video for “Shut Down“, the latest hit from Skepta who also recently announced that Idris Elba will feature on a remix of the song, so look out for that.
