Electronic duo Snakehips return to their R&B/hip-hop roots with their upcoming Stay Home Tapes EP, set for release on April 6. The first track to be lifted from the record is a nostalgic funk piece titled “Cruzin‘”, serving as a soundtrack to the Act 1 of a 3-part mini movie.
The six-track EP will include a range of vocalists such as Jeremih, Knox Brown, Jay Price and more. The newest single features vocals from St. Rulez.
The duo says their EP was inspired by years of touring and traveling: “we called it ‘Stay Home’ as a kinda jokey way to express all the mad stuff you experience and the bizarre characters you meet along the way, and throughout that trying to stay true to yourself.”
Can Evgin-directed video depicts the same idea, with the story focused on a middle aged Asian woman named Sue and her trippy journey. Watch the Stay Home Tapes – Act 1 video below:
