Solange – Things I Imagined / Down With The Clique | Music Video
Shortly after sharing the video for “Beltway“, Solange has shared another music video for “Things I Imagined / Down with the Clique“. Both tracks come from her recent much anticipated album When I Get Home and both are lifted from the short film following the release. Until now, they were exclusive available on Apple Music.
The video clips comes courtesy of her direction but she enlisting the help of her husband Alan Ferguson, as well as Terence Nance, Jacolby Satterwhite and others. The video has a moody, late night feel with extended choreography and beautiful shots. She pays homage to her Houston roots as she rocks a black cowboy hat throughout and features horseback riders.
The original film was described by Solange’s representatives in a statement as “An exploration of origin, asking the question how much of ourselves do we bring with us versus leave behind in our evolution.” Artistic and atmospheric, it channels Solange’s overall relaxed tone in When I Get Home.
Solange, if anything, is known for her cinematic, moving, cryptic yet reference packed visuals and this doesn’t disappoint.
