South London Singer-Songwriter Moniah Releases New Single ‘Twin Flame’

Moniah (pronounced Mo-nye-yah) is a fascinating addition to the UK’s Alternative R&B scene. Born and raised in South London, her unearthly sound brings impacts from soul and jazz.

Moniah’s new single “Twin Flame” is catchy, daring, and forthright, pulling the listener into a deep sensory love. The mysterious tone of the song is offset by her dreamy and gentle vocals, while the synth bass draws the listener in.

Moniah wrote and co-produced “Twin Flame” with Rob Wilks and Oli Middleton, and it follows the release of ‘Spaceman,’ which was featured on BBC 1Xtra for several weeks. Moniah was confirmed as the night’s rising star performance at AllBright’s Mayfair in August 2022.

Moniah’s lyrics are constant self and affectively inspiring, inspired by her own adventure of building confidence to finally seek music.

One of her songs is titled “Human”, and the lyrics are straightforward: “you probably won’t be honest, but I’ll ask you anyway.” Her previous single, “The Exchange” combines comforting melodies with an invitation to an universe of unwavering love.

Moniah’s creativity has always revolved around music. When she was eight years old, she began collecting blank tapes and recording her favorite songs, realizing the allure of music. She would sing for others despite her shyness.

Moniah continued her education by studying Performance Studies in sixth form college, where she became interested in musical theater and discovered how music can aid in captivating storytelling.

She continued her education at the University of Hertfordshire, where she studied Event Management and Japanese. Moniah became interested in collaboration after working with other creatives at university to introduce live music and poetry events.

It’s no surprise that Moniah’s song ‘Twin Flame’ was written by Rob Wilks, Oli Middleton, and herself.
