Going way beyond what was expected. Star Trek Beyond has rocketed to top the US Box Office, knocking Universal’s The Secret Life Of Pets from the No.1 spot as profits soared to $59.6 million. The Paramount feature is the third in the JJ Abrams rebooted franchise, even if it falls far behind the $20 million opening for the first movie, Star Trek. However experts still have faith in the film, commenting:
“This is a solid enough debut to tell them there’s still enough interest in Star Trek to keep this franchise alive”.
