The Star Wars train rolled into Ireland as Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley and Adam Diver landed at Belfast airport for filming of several scenes of Star Wars: Episode VIII on the countries stellar coastline. Ridley and Diver tried to conceal themselves from the waiting photographers, Mark Hamill being more relaxed as he showed off his beard and waved to the reporters.

The Unesco protected Island of Skellig Micheal was used to film the final scenes to Star Wars: Episode VII, when Luke Skywalker was re-discovered living as a hermit, setting up the exciting prospect of seeing the character and the part he has to play in the coming trilogy of films.
