American ‘glam metal jokesters’ Steel Panther are going to headline the last ever concert to be held at the historical House Of Blues on Sunset Strip, West Hollywood, before it is to be demolished. The band will be joined on stage by country singer Bill Ray Cyrus and others on August 3. In an interview, Steel Panther’s lead singer Michael Starr said, “it’s an honor and a privilege to play the final show at a venue with so much rock and roll history“.
He also jokingly (we hope) added, “when they tear the place down, I hope all our sex toys that have gone missing backstage over the years are found“. Billy Ray Cyrus said of the performance, “I’m proud to be part of the final performance ever at the House Of Blues in Hollywood… I expect it to be an epic night“. The historical building has seen the likes of Prince, Aerosmith, Tony Bennett, Britney Spears and Avril Lavigne just to name a few and in Steel Panther’s early years, they would perform there regularly on Monday nights.
