The 20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for Stuber, the buddy action-comedy starring Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani. The film follows an Uber driver named Stu who picks up an LAPD officer in the middle of a hunt for a killer.

When a mild-mannered Uber driver named Stu (Kumail Nanjiani) picks up a passenger (Dave Bautista) who turns out to be a cop hot on the trail of a brutal killer, he’s thrust into a harrowing ordeal where he desperately tries to hold onto his wits, his life and his five-star rating.

Directed by Michael Dowse (What If), the comedy aims for the classic mismatched buddy-cop movies of the ‘80s. Exactly like Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy in 48 Hours. Or like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jim Belushi in Red Heat. Maybe even Bob Hoskins and the cartoon bunny in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

The film also stars Iko Uwais (The Raid: Redemption, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Natalie Morales (Parks and Recreation), Betty Gilpin (Glow), Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal, 22 Jump Street), Mira Sorvino and Bautista ’s Guardians of the Galaxy co-star, Karen Gillan.

The film had its world premiere at SXSW in March and it will hits theatres on July 12. Check out the trailer here below.
