Swedish songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Augustine is back with his newest single “Picking Up Speed”, kickstarting his 2020 in the best way.
Augustine grew up in Gothenburg listening to works of artists like Bob Dylan and The National. He has been writing poems from the young age of 9, and later on he managed to perfectly combine honest and meaningful lyrics with groovy melodies and engaging indie pop beats.
Last year was a real blast for the emergent Swedish artist, as he debuted in February 2019 with his first release “Luzon”, which hit #1 on the Hype Machine charts, and his debut EP Wishful Thinking made him Pop Artist Of The Year at the Swedish Independent Music Awards 2020.
Featuring smooth vocals and a driving rhythm, “Picking Up Speed” is an uplifting track about the fear of losing someone, whose fragile message is made clear in the sincere lines “now it’s gone to my head/that we have peaked for some months now/and this is all gonna end”. On his latest release, Augustine commented: “Picking up speed together with someone who means the world to you can be the scariest thing”.
About the artist, the Elevator stated: “Augustine is a breath of fresh air to the industry”. You could definitely make good use of some fresh air during these days so here you get the perfect chance by listening to Augustine’s new single!
