Having released his self-titled debut album earlier this year, SYML has unveiled the music video for the track “Everything All At Once”. The heart-wrenching clip was directed by award winning filmmaker Gavin Michael Booth.
SYML is the solo project of Seattle musician Brian Fennell, who was previously a member of the indie-rock band Barcelona. The stage name the singer chose means “simple” in Welsh and refers to his heritage – Fennell was adopted as a child and later discovered his parents origins.
The vocalist gained popularity when one of his earlier tracks “Where’s My Love” was used in the hit drama TV show Teen Wolf. The song stayed on the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart for 20 weeks and reached No. 1 on Canada’s CBC Top 20 charts twice.
In May this year SYML dropped his long-awaited eponymous debut album supported by the single “Where’s My Love”. The LP climbed to No. 5 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and was named one of NPR Music’s Top 8 of the Week. Now, the singer is sharing the visuals for “Everything All At Once” helmed by Gavin Michael Booth.
Speaking about the video, the Fennell said, “As soon as I saw the treatment that Gavin, the director, sent, I felt tears in my eyes. This song is so important to me, I knew I wanted the video to be equally moving. I love thinking about music in visual terms, and what Gavin has created is both vivid and beautiful”.
In Autumn this year, SYML is heading oversees on a headline tour across Europe. His UK dates include Brighton, Manchester and Cardiff. He is also set to perform in London’s Scala on October 29
