Taylor Swift pulled her back catalogue from Spotify recently, and the opaque decision has baffled her fans, but here are some possibilities as to why the choice was made. Musician and activist Billy Bragg thinks Swift pulled her songs from Spotify so that she could team up with Google and YouTube’s new streaming service, he continues to say that Swift should be more open with her fans.
Bragg said on his Facebook page, “what a shame that Taylor Swift’s principled stand against those who would give her music away for free has turned out to be nothing more than a corporate power play. These worthy sentiments have been somewhat undermined by Swift making her new album and back catalogue available on Google’s new Music Key streaming service…..which also offers listeners a free service alongside a premium subscription tier“.
