On Tuesday, Taylor Swift took to Twitter to share a picture of her and Stella McCartney working on their fashion collaboration.
Swift first announced the collaboration during an Instagram Live in June and she has explained how the idea came to their mind after they first met at Taylor Swift’s concert:
‟When I started spending more time in London, Stella and I would go on walks, have cocktails, and talk about life. So when it came time to write this album, I name checked her in one of my songs, and when I played her the album, I said, “Should we do something?””.
Indeed, the entire collection is inspired by her upcoming album Lover.
On Tuesday, she gave more details by revealing that their new clothing line will be available to shop first at the Lover Experience Taylor Swift pop-up shop in New York from August 23-25. She has also unveiled the look book of the collection, and will be giving more details about the pop-up shop on her YouTube Live on Thursday, August 22 at 5pm.
The Stella x Taylor Swift collection is inspired by graffiti, old-school Taylor Swift lyrics, vintage band T-shirts. ‟It’ll also be ‘a fun, bold, colorful celebration”, according to McCartney.
Furthermore, the capsule collection is the epitome of ethically-minded fashion. It includes pieces made using weather alternatives made of recycled polyester and vegetable waste. Check out some of the looks below.
