After days of clues and teases on Instagram, Taylor Swift has finally unveiled her big secret and it is indeed brand NEW music. On April 26, at midnight, Taylor finally shared her “next chapter”, releasing her new single called “ME!“, along with its accompanying music video and it features Panic! At the Disco‘s Brendon Urie.
On April 13, Taylor launched a countdown that announced that she would…“announce something” on April 26, with most fans believing it to be the first single. It follows a long series of hints to what could possible be in store for the next Swift era.
Then Swift confirmed on Thursday via an Instagram Story that a “song” and “new music” were coming. She teased her upcoming release even more in an interview with Robin Roberts at the 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville on ABC. As she spoke to Roberts, she finally revealed her new song with Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco.
She also surprised fans who gathered at a butterfly mural that she commissioned (from street artist Kelsey Montague) in Nashville.
The mural, as Taylor explained, contains clues about “ME!” and her new music. It depicts a massive, pastel and colorful butterfly whose wings bear images of cats, hearts and stars and the word “ME!,” which was added just before the singer joined the crowd, where she posed for pics and took selfies with fans.
