Elizabeth Olsen Reveals News About Disney Series ‘WandaVision’ | TV News

In an interview with Variety, Avengers: Endgame star Elizabeth Olsen has revealed new details about the upcoming Disney+ and Marvel series WandaVision, confirming that the show, about her superhero character, Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, will be set in the 1950s with filming scheduled to begin this fall.

Olsen in the interview said: “There’s quite a few other comic books that we’re pulling from and it’s going to be Wanda and the Vision, and I think at the Disney+ launch chat, they showed a photo of us in the ’50s,” She went on to say, Paul [Bettany] and I are really excited. They have a great group of writers. I think it’s going to be a total of six hours.”

The series will, of course, star Olsen and Bettany reprising their roles as Wanda Maximoff and the android Vision, an unorthodox love story that led to one of the most powerful moments in Avengers: Infinity War.

The screenwriter for Captain Marvel Jac Schaeffer, is writing, producing, and showrunning the series. WandaVision will be part of the Marvel slate on Disney+ sometime after its November 12 launch.

The series joins other Marvel Studios content set for Disney’s new subscription streaming service, such as a show centering on Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier with Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, and Loki staring Tom Hiddleston.
