One of the most acclaimed names on the Irish music scene, alternative hip-hop duo Tebi Rex have released the latest single titled “I Never Get Off The Bus” from their upcoming debut album.
It follows the hard hitting “Number 1 Symbol Of Peace” and “Financial Controller”, tracks that saw Tebi Rex named as one of RTE 2FM’s Rising acts for 2019. The duo also made their UK debut this year with two well received shows at The Great Escape, and went on to play at a string of high profile festival appearances in Ireland before the autumn release of their upcoming album The Young Will Eat The Old.
“I Never Got Off The Bus” sees the alternative hip-hop duo tackle their past and the permanent mark it can leave on you – regardless of how hard you try to break away. The message is simple – either you grow or let it define you.
Max Zanga, Matt O and guest feature on the track, Local Boy all come to different conclusions about what their past means to them. In a way, it perfectly encapsulates what their upcoming concept album is about; how we’re destined to be better than what came before us but also doomed to fall prey to their same mistakes. The cycle repeats. Gods rise and fall. THE YOUNG WILL EAT THE OLD.
