It seems teen heartthrob Tyler Posey can’t get enough of MTV (though not the most sophisticated sources of television). Just a few hours after Teen Wolf wrapped for good, it was announced that Posey would be joining Season 3 of MTV’s Scream.
The third season does not connect to the first two, the show being rebooted as an anthology, likely in pursuit of American Horror Story‘s success. It’ll revolve around a high school running back, Deion Elliot (RJ Cyler), whose big dreams are threatened by a tragic past. A masked killer uses the dark secrets of Deion and his equally haunted group of misfit friends to force them into madness.
Tyler Posey joins as Shane, a high school drop out turned drug dealer and party promoter. A hustler, the series reveals he is more than what he seems. Posey will be a series regular, joining a cast that includes Queen Latifah, Giorgia Whigham (13 Reasons Why), Jessica Sula (Recovery Road), Giullian Yao Gioiello (Julie’s Greenroom), Keke Palmer (Scream Queens), Tyga, and C.J. Wallace.
Brett Matthews (The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural) is on board as the new showrunner and executive producer. Season 3 of Scream will have six episodes, aired in a three night March event on MTV.
