Brazilian rock and roll songwriter and composer Johnny Franco released his brand new single “Tell Me Something” earlier this month. The single is part of his first EP Experience Report #1.
The Portland-based artist from Sao Paulo is known for his energetic street performances. The artist is signed by the producer Sterling Fox for his new label Blanket Fort, and has released, via this label, his EP Experience report #1.
The EP is composed of the songs “Treated Like Grass”, “Immediate Love”, “Tell Me Something” and “D.A.N.D”. These western-jungle-folk songs are like his path, wild and varied.
The single “Immediate Love” marries slow build indie guitars and retro sounds while “Treated Like Grass” has a unique Brazilian-influenced rhythm, led by Dylan-esque vocal stylings. Johnny Franco is influenced by artists such as Kurt Vile, Alabama Shakes, Brittany Howard, Mac DeMarco and the Black Keys.
He will also announce a series of local shows in Portland, before announcing a larger tour later this year. Among these events, he will be present on March 21 at The Grove House in California with the band The Coffis Brothers and on March 22 but this time alone! If you’re in the area, don’t miss it!
