If you are planning to go on a trip to Florence, you should take the chance to visit the temporary Gucci exhibition at the Mercanzia Palace in the city centre.
The Gucci Museum, situated in Piazza della Signoria in Florence, has extended its space to welcome a temporary exhibition with an unique piece of the Gucci collection: Björk‘s dress from her music video for “The Gate“.
This dress was sewn in 550 hours and required 320 hours to embroider the cloth designed by Alessandro Michele. The other room includes the accessories used in the music video like the mask made by the designer James Berry.
You will find a fashion expert who will tell you how Alessandro Michele designed Bjork’s dress and the influences he got for its creation. You can visit the Gucci Museum in Florence every day from 10 am to 8 pm. The cost (exhibition included) is €6 per person. Part of the cost is allocated for the restoration of Florence’s art.
