The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles hosted the 50th American Music Awards (AMAs) yesterday. This is the time of year when music performers and albums that have done the best in the US in the year are recognized. There are four new award categories this year, hosted by Wayne Brady: Favorite Afrobeats Artist, Favorite K-Pop Artist, Favorite Rock Song, and Favorite Rock Album.
The red carpet fashions at the AMAs have always been magnificent. Christina Aguilera popularised belly tops in 2000, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake wore famous denim outfits in 2001.
Taylor Swift wore the silver turtleneck mini dress, and Cardi B arrived at the 2021 AMA red carpet wearing a Schiaparelli gold mask, giant gold earrings, a black veil, and a long black dress.

Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood showed her customary flair for country chic, this time pushing more into the glam in a baby pink gown with silver straps and a keyhole neckline. It was embellished with rainbow fringe trimming, a favorite of the singer’s, and even had a high split to show off her toned legs. The red carpet fashions at the AMAs have always been magnificent.
Taylor Swift
While Taylor was not on the red carpet, she did pose for the cameras when she was named the night’s biggest winner. She looked stunning in a gold sequin and crystal-covered jumpsuit with a V-neck and tight waist, matching shoes, and her equally golden locks in luxurious waves.
P!nk
P!nk, as usual, was one of the night’s first significant red carpet sightings, and added a fun silhouette to the fray, opting for a green and black fringed mini-dress that was fully backless and putting her incredible legs on display. The detail on it, though, made all the difference, with the black fringe effortlessly flowing into the green and even producing a lightning bolt impression over her chest.
Anitta
Anitta combined glam with high fashion and sultriness in a structured white bodice and skirt. The bodice, on the other hand, had a completely crystal-covered hem, and the skirt was patterned up to show off a lot of skin while also creating a statuesque frame.
