An Ode To – the first public screening of short dance films Bump, Endures, Gélé and Thorns For a Crown; directed and choreographed by multidisciplinary artist DK Fashola – is being held by the award-winning arts platform Initiative.dkf at London’s RichMix.
tyroneisaacstuart, Selina Jones, Luke Wilson and Ewa Dina will be perform at the single evening event, which will include live creative responses including saxophone birthing movement, mic ignited storytelling, a musical theatre experience and more.
Award-winning independent multidisciplinary arts platform Initiative.dkf is run by creative Pproducer Wofai and artistic director DK Fashola.
Together, they put on plays, festivals, and dance performances. They are the creators of the Melanin Box Festival, Scalped, Eclipse Award 2021, Albany’s Artists of Change 2020, and the dance performances Twerk N V!be and Whine ‘n Cotch.
DK Fash is a multidisciplinary artist that specializes in multi-form storytelling by mixing the lyrical, multi-layered language with unexpected movement. She is also a theatremaker, choreographer, and dancer.
Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre, Bush Theatre, GDIFestival, Theatre 503 and Royal Exchange Manchester are among the companies with which she has collaborated.
Choreography for Grammy Award-winning artist Wizkid and international superstar Tiwa Savage is also among her other projects.
