Every year, fashion fans go to the Lagos Fashion Week tents at the Federal Palace Hotel to see some of the most creative designers present their spring/summer collections.
The highlight of Lagos Fashion Week, however, is not watching the runway show. The delight is seeing street style enthusiasts push the edge with their attire. This years best dressed in Nigeria will be seen donning costumes that play with gender expression, colors, textures, and other elements.
Celebrities, influencers, stylists, creatives, and others dressed up in their best fashion week attire to put on a colorful show on the streets leading up to Lagos Fashion Week, which returned for its 11th year. We saw a street style that rivaled even the most vivid runway shows.
Lagos Fashion Week kicks off the season with a renewed commitment to strengthening our ecosystem as a whole. Our greatest asset is each other, and Lagos Fashion Week initiatives this year have been curated to reinforce our commitment to adopting a functional fashion system that upholds, supports, and delivers environmental, societal, and economic solutions through our ethos of collaboration, co-creation, and community.
Lagos Fashion Week is still dedicated to the future of fashion and conveying culturally rich stories about African ingenuity and craftsmanship, with workshops, retail activations, runway shows, and presentations in collaboration with BestSeller Foundation, TECNO, Lush Hair, and Style House Files (SHF).
Lagos Fashion Week has been instrumental in determining Africa’s fashion future since its beginning in 2011.
