The Drums – I Can’t Pretend | New Music
The Drums present “I Can´t Pretend”, their second single following “Magic Mountain”, from their third album Encyclopedia, which will be released on September 22 via Minor Records. The American Indie Pop band presents us with this bittersweet ballad with drums, which grows on you with each listen. This song talks about sentiments and existentialism, with lyrics like “the moment we take our first breath, we become slaves to this life and to it’s pointlessness”. The sounds of “I Can’t Pretend” are really heavy in their instrumental, with a strong drum bass and delicate in the composition. The band have also now announced a run of UK and European dates this autumn, including a London date at Scala on November 18 and a Manchester date on November 19 at Gorilla. Below you can stream and enjoy “I Can´t Pretend”.
