If you have recently experienced lack of faith due to the lack of footage from Disney’s Han Solo movie, you can now sit back, relax and savour your first look at the Galaxy’s favourite rascal today.
The trailer delivers a heist plot with some great visuals (fairly reminiscent of Rogue One in looks and character appearances). We get to meet a new gang – this includes Han’s mentor, Woody Harrelson’s Tobias Beckett, Emilia Clarke’s Qi’Ra, fan favourite Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), Thandie Newton‘s character, as well as another cool alien companion.
The trailer also reunites the Galaxy’s beloved duo – young Han (Alden Ehrenreich) and Chewie (Joonas Suotamo), back when all things space-related seem a bit… let’s say less complicated.
The movie has gone through a troubled production and, as a result, Disney’s biggest gamble yet is the product of two very different directors and their conflicting visions- comic duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller, as well as veteran Ron Howard.
Judging from the trailer, the studio has restored Star Wars veteran Lawrence Kasdan original vision of Han Solo, which envisioned a more restrained and sarcastic portrayal of the iconic character. You can see the movie very soon and see it for yourself, as Solo: A Star Wars Story is expected to attempt the infamous ‘Kessel Run’ on May 25.
