Fans of the show have been mourning the loss of The Hound (Rory McCann) since he fought with Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and was left on the mountain side to die by Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) in the season four finale. The fight saw him fall from a cliff, break his leg and lose part of his ear, however we never saw him actually die, so his return to the show was always a possibility.
The rumour of a comeback for The Hound, comes from the fansite ‘Watchers On The Wall’ who reported that McCann was spotted staying in a Belfast hotel regularly used by cast members while filming the series. Many also speculate that the much loved character Jon Snow (Kit Harington) would also be returning to the show after his death in the season five season finale.
