After the controversial decision from Sony to pull Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogan‘s comedy The Interview from theatrical release following threats from an internet terrorist group, it now seems they’re releasing it in over 300 theaters today (Christmas Day) and making it available to download via YouTube, Google Play and Xbox for just $5.99, The Hollywood Reporter tells.
Variety also reports that the film will also be ready for Netflix consumption in the next few days. Hopefully this decision will end what has been a difficult and consuming drama for Sony, Goldberg, Rogan and co-star James Franco. Sony was met with great criticism from many over their decision to pull The Interview’s release and therefore this comes as a brilliant move from their front.
