The Streets – Burn Bridges | New Music

Earlier this year, fans were delighted when The Streets announced their return to music with an upcoming UK greatest hits tour. Usually with these things there’s always the rumors that circulate of new music in the pipeline and most times it’s always true. This is no exception.

New music comes today from the group in the form of “Burn Bridges“, a somber new release which serves as the first piece of material in six years. “Burn bridges, there are worse things than hurt feelings” serves as the mantra for the song. It’s somber in tone and in production but it is still has that poetic-like style that Mike Skinner is famed for. Almost sounds like a lecture.

The B-side (if I can call it that) titled “Sometimes I Hate My Friends More Than My Enemies” is also somber and reflective in tone but more upbeat with Grime and Garage inspired beat. I sure hope this solemn approach doesn’t embody the whole album is there is to be one.

Have a listen to the new single and make sure to catch The Streets on tour next year.
