Viewers must’ve thought their telly-boxes were on the blink when they tuned in to the new series of The Undateables this week – Channel 4’s dating show for people with physical disabilities and learning difficulties. Step forward Mr. Tom Morgan – a participant with Tourette’s and Asperger’s Syndrome – who the Twitter-verse has deemed far from ‘undateable’. Morgan’s good looks and winning personality sent the social media platform into a frenzy; and now the man himself has spoken out in an interview with the Loose Women team on Friday, January 8.
Morgan said he was initially reluctant to take part in the show, but he had a chat with his good old mum and changed his mind; and it sounds like he’s glad he had a change of heart, saying that he feels like “a weight has been lifted”. He went on to describe the overwhelming positive response he’s received, especially from parents with children diagnosed with Tourette’s and Asperger’s. Morgan now hopes to set up a charity to benefit both conditions – but he might have to fit that in around catwalk shows, if the model scouts come a-calling.
The Undateables continues on Channel 4 on Monday evenings at 9pm.
