Last year, The Weeknd released Beauty Behind The Madness, which spawned hit singles “The Hills” and “I Can’t Feel My Face”. It marked his crossover into the mainstream, after being an unknown, underground favourite.
After Beauty Behind The Madness, many fans were unimpressed and disillusioned with where The Weeknd was headed, musically. They missed the ‘old’ him, the one known for the depressed, depraved and heartbroken body of work, Trilogy.
The purists, the ‘OGs’ as they call themselves, longed for the reunion of the original team behind the classic House Of Balloons. Now, their wish has been granted.
In a feature for Vogue, it’s confirmed that “The Weeknd purists will be pleased to hear that he’s in the studio with the House of Balloons team again”.
Let the hype train begin.
