Afro-Trinidadian and Japanese singer, Thelma Aoyama has released the new music video for her first single of her new album HIGHSCHOOL GAL.
Thelma Aoyama debuted with her collaboration with SoulJa in “Koko Ni Iru Yo” and her reply song “Soba Ni Iru Re” in 2008. Including various forms of digital downloads, it sold over 8.7 million downloads by November 2008. After a one year hiatus, she is back with a new style and an energetic song titled “We Are The World” that includes many 90’s sounds and aesthetics.
In the music video, she features alongside many girls dancing to her own choreography and with DJ Yosshi in many places like a disco, the 109 Shibuya building and an antique shop. The music video itself is also host to many 90’s references like the brilliant phrases, the iconic video game Dance Dance Revolution and the classic clothes.
