Kaiser Chiefs’ musical career is currently undergoing a revival, largely thanks to frontman Ricky Wilson’s continuing coaching gig on The Voice. Now the band are performing as part of Forest Live 2016 – an initiative by the Forestry Commission to bring forests to new audience. Tickets start at £42.85 plus booking fees, but it’s all for a good cause, as proceeds from ticket sales goes towards protecting, improving and expanding forests and woodlands in England, as well as being spent on wildlife conservation.
Tickets for these shows go on sale today (January 22) from all the usual outlets, and further details about all dates (including Kaiser Chiefs) can be found on the Forestry Commission’s website. You may want to sign up for their newsletter to receive updates on artist announcements and exclusive content. Here’s a list of dates and locations where Kaiser Chiefs will be performing at:
Friday June 17 – National Arboretum, Westonbirt;
Saturday June 18 – Bedgebury Pinetum, Kent;
Sunday June 26 – Dalby Forest;
Sunday July 3 – Delamere Forest;
Sunday July 10 – Cannock Chase, Staffordshire
Cheeky chappie Wilson shared his enthusiasm for these unusual gigs: “As a band we’ve always loved to play outdoors, we’ve done fields, parks, farms, rooftops, beaches and back gardens, but this will be the first time we’ve played in a forest. If you go down to the woods this Summer, you’re sure of a big surprise. We’re really looking forward to being part of Forest Live”.
