Tilly Valentine – Coins | Music Video
Combining the smooth sounds of Tom Misch, with trip-hop, jazz and R&B blazoned across the production, the classy demeanour and silky vocals of Yebba and the lyrical ability and honesty of Lily Allen, I give you the refreshing sound of Tilly Valentine.
While your playlist may be blazoned with heartfelt acoustic guitar love songs ready to send anyone to sleep, mines been injected with Tilly’s debut release “Coins“. Collaborating with German producer Mattias, Tilly has crafted her sound over time and now feels she is really take on the industry with full force, and I have no doubt she will do just that.
A track that is fun, quirky and effortlessly cool, It’s not surprising that this debut has already gained support from both BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 1 Extra.
Also with the release of her music video, Tilly’s really treating us this New Music Friday, delving into the context of the visuals that accompany ‘Coins’ she talks of the inspiration behind it: “It’s easy to get caught up with materialistic things and think that what you do or don’t have defines your worth. My concept for the video was to represent resisting the temptations and not losing sight of what’s really important.”
You’d be a fool not to check out the visuals for yourself here:
