Tiz McNamara is an Irish singer-songwriter and drummer currency based in Toronto. And we can say he feels the emotion of his songs.
He started to play drums at the age of 3, and then he decided to study a music degree course in the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. In his second year, a piano fell on his foot and it was just avoided from amputation. The injury was so severe it forced him to swaps the drums for guitar, then he started to sing and write songs. Now, he has racked up over 7 million streams on Spotify with his independent releases.
His first EP April Fool is due to be released on 2020. It’s all dedicated to his father and two of his brothers who tragically died in an accident when he was 1.
But ahead of it, his songs has been featured on UK TV shows Hollyoaks and Emmerdale, as well as gaining support from BBC Radio 2, Amazing Radio and NME.
He has also toured with BRITS ‘Critics Choice Winner’ James Bay. And he can be proud to have sung alongside Paul McCartney, as well as Robbie Williams, and Shane McGowan.
Nowadays, Tiz McNamara has released his second song from his upcoming debut EP. Titled “Falling Asleep”, it’s a dreamy track full of emotion.
Tim commented about the track saying, “This song is the first full song I ever wrote and performed. I posted a demo to YouTube of a really poor quality phone recording which quickly accumulated thousands of views and interest, but it wasn’t until this year that I finally got the song recorded. The goal of this song was to try and create a lullaby for adults”.
And I think he has reached his goal, listen to “Falling Asleep” below:
