The last couple of weeks have been hectic for all members of Blink-182 after their public squabbles on social media and through the press about who’s in and out of the band, and now it seems like the dust has started to settle. It definitely seems as though Tom DeLonge is out of the band, but that hasn’t put an end to his music talents. According to a Facebook post, Tom will be releasing solo music on March 1. The post read: “I have a lot of music I was working hard on. Things happen, so I guess we have a change of plans… Either way, I think you guys should hear it. #SongsWithoutAHome #ToTheStars #TomDelonge“.
Whether this new material was meant for Blink-182 or not is as yet unknown, but his reference to a ‘change of plans’ makes it seem that way. Snippets of the new material can be found on Tom’s Instagram page with the hashtag #SongsWithoutAHome. With less than a month until the release date, and putting the past firmly in the past, hearing new material from the singer/guitarist is not to be missed.
Meanwhile, over at Blink-182, Mark Hoppus posted a photo on his Instagram of the road cases that the band will be using for their upcoming shows, indicating that the band have also moved on from its recent upheavals. This may not be the way the band and its members, both current and former, wanted to go, but recent events haven’t held any of them back. With every ending comes a new beginning, and this could turn out to be the best thing for everyone.
