The Lawless co-stars seems to have shared more than just scenes together in John Hilcoat’s 2012 western film, as it has been confirmed by Hilcoat (the director) that both Tom Hardy and Shia Lebeouf were involved in a physical altercation during the filming of the movie.
During an AMA on reddit, Hilcoat stated the following in response to a question about the incident; “There was definitely a fight between them. It escalated to the point where they had to both be restrained. But I was very pleased to hear it didn’t go that way because I would hate to see the outcome”.
There were rumours that Lebeouf had actually managed to knock Hardy out during this supposed fight, but because of this latest statement from Hilcoat, it’s safe to say that those rumours were greatly exaggerrated as it appears the altercation had only almost became physical and nothing more.
As a matter of fact it was Hardy himself who was the one that claimed that Lebeouf had knocked him out during the incident of set, but the way he conveyed that bit of information suggested he was only joking and laughing at the thought of it. This latest update now confirms that Hardy was indeed not being serious.
Which makes sense, not to knock LaBeouf, but have you seen Tom Hardy? The man is build like a machine, while LaBeuof is well…not.
