After they released many teasers of their new music, TWICE finally dropped their fifth EP called, What Is Love? and the first single with the same name.
“What is love?” is an uptempo dance beat track that digs into finding the true definition of love. It is written and produced by J.Y. Park, the same producer of their hit “Signal” and was arranged by Lee Min-woo, who co-produced “Knock Knock” and their last Japanese single “Candy Pop“.
In the first hour of its official release in Korea, TWICE became the first K-pop girl group to have an album debut at No. 1 on Melon charts. They broke their personal record of 350,000 pre-orders for What is Love?, following their 330,000 pre-orders of Twicetagram last October.
In the music video, the members: Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu are watching TV and they start to fighting over the remote control.
On TV, they are watching various love stories from different films like Ghost, Princess Diaries, Pulp Fiction, Romeo + Juliet, La La Land and more. Each member changes roles and represents a different movie and love story.
