Twin Caverns – Crimes | New Music

After twelve months without any published material, the Australian trio Twin Caverns return with a brand new and downtempo single titled “Crimes”. The band who consist of Lou Millar and Michael Macias recently recruited their third member, bass player Chuffy Smith into the team.

It is a track which was written and produced in Sydney and Canberra, and is influenced by bluesy and soulful sounds. The band explains that the single is about the small acts of hurt which we commit towards each other and ourselves. In relation to how they came up with the sound for the record, the band said that:

We love working with a field recorder as the basis for new sounds, especially percussion. We started off throwing around a whole bunch of sticks and branches to see what we could capture.

What initially began as sounding like an on old Western soundtrack score, grew into something totally different once Lou’s vocals were put down … We want sharp feelings – pleasure is pain is pleasure is pain.
