Charlize Theron’s Denver production company and Delilah and Broad Green Pictures have announced that Tyler Perry has been cast in their new film Brain on Fire. Based on the memoir of journalist Susannah Cahalan, the film will follow her harrowing medical battle, that began just as her career was taking off.
Chloë Grace Moretz will play Susannah in the movie that will chronicle the unfortunate events surrounding her illness and explore how she began hearing voices and became increasingly violent with aggressive outbursts. Cahalan slips into a coma, and the onus will then be on the doctors to bring her back, so she can start to rebuild herself and her life. Perry is set to play the role of Susannah’s New York Post editor. An official date for its release has yet to be announced, but the film is expected to open at some point next year.
