“Goodnight America” was written by Until The Ribbon Breaks’ frontman and vocalist, Pete Lawrie-Winfield. Now we also have visuals for the piece, which in turn was also directed by Lawrie-Winfield.
This a piece of distorted, dirty rock. The lyrics are highly charged and political, despairing at a world shooting itself in the foot at every turn. The drums clap, giving it definition suited to a massive hip-hop track, but works quite well in the rock format.
In terms of the video, it’s like an elaborate lyric video accompanied by startling images, like Trump delivery rhetoric and nuclear blasts shaking trees to their very core. Not the most high end piece of footage you will ever see, but it works and definitely serves its purpose.
