Raw, brutal, and impressive are three words that come to mind when I think of Wavves‘ recently released music video for ‘Way Too Much’. It was filmed during an Underground Wrestling Empire event and features expertly executed moves, a table adorned with barbed wire, and a wrestler – Max X – who ends up with several tacks in his head that have to be removed with pliers.
The video, directed by Jack Wagner, was inspired by Wavves founder Nathan Williams’ love for professional wrestling and as he told Rolling Stone: “I have wrestling parties at my house every Monday and Thursday for Raw and SmackDown; we’ll barbecue and watch. I’ve been a fan for 20 years now – but the UEW event, it was crazy.”
‘Way Too Much’ is the first single from upcoming album V due out on October 2; the album can be pre-ordered here and the music video can be viewed below.
