North Wales artist Nia Wyn has released a new single titled “Leave My Bed”. Nia Wyn’s latest single, “Leave My Bed,” was produced by Baker Aaron (Enny, Kadeem Tyrell) and released by Unity Group. The song follows a Paul Weller support tour and a partnership with German mega producer Shuko (Kanye West, Anderson .Paak).
“Leave My Bed”, the first single from her upcoming Magical Thinking EP, is enticing, sensuous, and passionate. The song is about being betrayed and cheated on in a previous relationship, and Nia delivers her most bluesy offering to date, relying on her love of the genre and putting her own stamp on it with her unique vocals and innate narrative talent, as she elaborates.
Speaking about the track, Nia says, “A long time ago, it was my first proper relationship with a girl who didn’t want anyone to know we were dating. It’s founded in the blues – I’m a big lover of blues artists, therefore I’m guessing that so many classic blues songs about getting f**ked over in love impacted the lyrics of ‘Leave My Bed’“.
The EP’s theme is common emotions that we all encounter at some point in our lives: betrayal, lust, guilt, and anxiety, all conveyed in Nia’s raw and powerful poetic style. Nia will undoubtedly continue to develop as one of the most interesting, upcoming young female musicians in the UK by 2022.
Nia was exposed to a diverse range of music while growing up in North Wales, from northern soul to Billie Holiday’s jazz blues to hip hop icons Nas and Lauryn Hill. Nia has received support from DIY, Wonderland, Clash, EARMILK, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, and Radio Wales, to name a few. Nia’s song “Who Asked You” was included in the FIFA 21 Soundtrack in October 2020.
