Lady Gaga has finally arrived in Venice to present her first movie ever A Star Is Born directed by Bradley Cooper.

This latest version of A Star Is Born serves as the third remake from the original movie. Bradley Cooper chose this script to debut as a director. Lady Gaga stars as the protagonist Ally who has been previously played by Janet Gaynor, Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand.

On the fifth day of the festival, Italian cinema was given the spotlight. In fact, the jury had the chance to judge two of the most awaited screenplays of the season: Suspiria and My Brilliant Friend.

Suspiria is the controversial remake of the 1977 movie by Dario Argento, which this time is directed by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name). Featured cast includes Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Chloë Grace Moretz, Mia Goth and Jessica Harper. The jury unfortunately didn’t appreciate it, but we hope the audience will when it reaches theatres.

My Brilliant Friend is the TV adaptation of the famous Elena Ferrante novel. The screening consisted of two episodes from the TV series that will air on Rai Italia in Italy but you will be able to catch it on HBO. It is a story about a friendship between to Neapolitan girls during the 50s, a story told by one of the girls in order to deal with the disappearance of her best friend.
