Whoopi Goldberg has been announced as one of the headline stars for the 2021 Edinburgh TV festival. As a reminder, it’s the UK’s biggest event in the television industry.
Led by 2021 advisory chair, Amazon Studios director of European originals, Georgia Brown, this year’s festival theme is “Accelerating Change”.
Goldberg will talk about her life, on and off screen, and his multiple experiences. Indeed, multi-award winning artist, producer, author, entrepreneur and humanitarian, must have a lot to tell.
In addition she will also talk about the future of the entertainment industry. But alors the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and commitments in favor of diversity.
“We’re thrilled that Whoopi Goldberg is coming to the Edinburgh TV Festival”, said festival creative director Stewart Clarke. “Across TV, film, and theater, her work resonates the world over and Whoopi truly embodies the‘ International Icon’ billing”, he added.
Other heavyweights from UK television and the streaming industry will speak, inlcuding Brown and Dan Grabiner, unscripted manager at Amazon, as well as Charlotte Moore, chief content officer, Kate Phillips, director of entertainment, Patrick Holland, factual director, and Piers Wenger, theatre director, all from the BBC.
This year the Edinburgh TV Festival, will take place as a hybrid digital and physical event on August 23-26.
