Probably the most political Golden Globes to date, the 75th ceremony was more than just outstanding glamour and luxurious red carpet looks. Most of the celebrities this year chose to show their solidarity with victims of sexual assault and wear only one color outfits – black.
The year of 2017 in film industry will be remembered for the #MeToo movement. Hollywood has been hit by many sexual harassment scandals and famous women have spoken out about their terrible experiences in the industry. It grew to such a huge and important movement around the world that Hollywood’s first award ceremony since the scandals was ruled by the powerful statements – even on the red carpet.
Almost all of the A-list attendees wore all black and many male actors also wore pins supporting the #TimesUp campaign, which fights against sexual harassment and gender inequality. Only a few women chose other colors, including Meher Tatna, who chose red as a festive color in Indian culture, and Barbara Meier, who explained her colorful choice as the women freedom to wear what they want to.
