Virginia-based indie pop outfit Wild Nothing have shared two new singles and announced a new album entitled Life of Pause, set for release in February 2016. Ahead of the record’s release, the band has shared a 10-minute combined video for both tracks, “To Know You” and “TV Queen”.
Speaking on the new record, Jack Tatum described his creative process: “I desperately wanted for this to be the kind of record that would displace me“, though adding “That reinvention doesn’t need to be drastic“. “To Know You” appears to personify that mindset, with a Peter Hook-style bassline perforating a harsh backing synth. “TV Queen” provides a much more familiar and lyrical approach. While containing the hallmarks of previous releases, Wild Nothing’s new material is just as engaging and refreshing as their 2010 debut. The video can be viewed below.
