So my pick of the week come by the way of Wiley who has just dropped a new track “P Money”, along with SBTV-premiered visuals to go with it. The Godfather of grime goes in spraying all over this Teeza-produced track whilst paying homage to fellow emcee P Money’s work ethic. The video is simple yet effective, with the EskiBoy sporting fresh Stone Island attire in front of the Balfron Tower.
But we can’t lie: when we first saw the title for the video, I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking a clash was about to be on the cards. Or maybe we have one? But just not in the shape of P Money and Wiley. 11 years on, it seems that we could have a clash on our hands back in the basement, a rematch we have all been waiting for but assumed we would never see.
Lord Of The Mics founder Jammer recently uploaded a picture on Instagram of a text he had received from the E3 Tiger himself, asking for a rematch with KA (Kano) as part of Lord of the Mics 8, which is due to be held sometime next year. Wiley asks for the rematch with some firm conditions [“Not a disrespect war, just a rematch“, “3 16’s per round“] and tells Jammer to call out Kano publicly.
We’ll keep you all posted as things unfold. However, much respect to Wiley for showing his admiration to one of his peers on this new track… Watch the video to “P Money” below. Who said that unity in grime was dead? As Wiley says on the track: “Aliens don’t even know how [he] does it”.
