Canadian indie rock band Wolf Parade have just announced their new album, titled Thin Mind. They revealed that its release will be on January 24 and will be shared via Sub Pop and Royal Mountain. This is the fifth album by the band and all we know is that it will contain ten songs. Among these songs contained in the album, there will be the already shared “Against The Day” alongside with “Forest Green”.
The last track “Forest Green” was released today, on the occasion of the announcement of the forthcoming album. This work was produced, mixed and mastered by John Goodmanson between Vancouver, Seattle and Toronto. The main theme of the album is the impact of tech on our “thin minds“ that are becoming less and less used to paying close attention to the things that surround us.
The engaging and groovy sounds of the song mix rock and disco vibes, resulting in a track that is both easy to listen to and dance to on the dance floor. The bittersweet melodies promise something good for the album, for which fans can no longer wait.
As group member Arlen Thompson further has explained: “This record is very personal, but at the same time, we’re all coming from the same place of a general sense of anxiety. How do you deal with the constant barrage of having your opinions swayed by all these different actors when you don’t know who they are or what their purpose is? There is no normal anymore.”
