Atomic Monster and Blumhouse have already successfully teamed up with year with M3GAN, the horror film which opened to $30 million last weekend. The two companies are quickly looking to collaborate again, and this time it will be a supernatural thriller titled Night Swim. Wyatt Russell and Kerry Condon are already on board to star.
Bryce McGuire will direct and write the film, which is built around the hidden source of terror found in an iconic backyard swimming pool. The story is based on the short film created by McGuire and Rod Blackhurst. James Wan and Jason Blum will produce on the film.
The two companies – which are preparing to merge – obviously want to capitalise on the success of M3GAN ASAP, as cameras will roll very soon on Night Swim, with a view to getting the film into cinemas for next January via Universal.
Russell is best known for Ingrid Goes West and The Woman In The Window, while he also recently appeared in true crime miniseries Under the Banner of Heaven. He’ll next be seen starring in Apple TV+ series Godzilla and the Titans alongside Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, and father Kurt Russell.
Condon was just seen starring alongside Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson in The Banshees of Inisherin, is best known for her recurring roles on Better Call Saul and Ray Donovan, while she was also the voice of F.R.I.D.A.Y in many MCU films. She’s currently gearing up for Liam Neeson thriller In the Land of Saints and Sinners.
