Reports are that rapper Young Thug is remixing a song for an unlikely fan of his, Elton John. “Rocket Man (I Think It’s Going To Be A Long, Long Time)” from Elton’s 1972 album Honky Château, is the track in question. An insider has described the track as, “it’s all the instrumental, the guitar, piano; and Thug is not rapping, he’s singing…It’s really ambient and amazing”.
Apparently it was the co-founder of Thug’s current label, 300 Entertainment, Lyor Cohen, who “recently arranged for the two iconoclasts to speak over FaceTime” which led to Elton John sending Young Thug the “Rocket Man” instrumental.
